Owl Simple Mail – Collecting Stamps

Hello to all my dear readers!

I have always considered myself a hoarder, rather than a collector. While I enjoy having particular items in my possession, I never was the one to seek them out on purpose. I just like… having things. A stack of notebooks and journals? I don’t care that I don’t use them, I have them – happy! I love buying crafty things, because even if they lie around for years unused, I know that I will use them.

Okay, maybe it’s not healthy! 😀 But I sincerely enjoy it.

So when I learnt about the art of mail, still living and kicking, I was thrilled. However, I never wanted to collect stamps. Sure, I liked all the original and fun designs, and even the unusual stamps many countries come up with, it has never been a goal. Until I once had a chance to grab some cancelled stamps for free. I saw the most beautiful stamp with a doll, I think, and I realised – this is it. I must, like a faithful dragon, “hoard” all the stamps I can. And then I started raiding my mail storage, cutting out stamps, removing them from the envelopes. And that’s how I came to own a fat plastic bag of them. I can’t wait to buy an album!

Owl Simple Things – Craving for Autumn (Bucket List)

Hello, dear readers!

Some of you may know my deep love to the season of fall. I loved this part of year since forever. I remember collecting golden and red leaves, picking up chestnuts, dancing in the rain… But when I joined this crazy thing called Internet, and dived in its crafty side in particular, a brand new view on the autumn was given to me. I can see how much more you can do, how much more enjoyable you can make this season. So I decided that this time I will make up a bucket list (more like a plan) for this fall and I do hope to fulfil most of the points.

• Harry Potter movies marathon;
• Brew butterbeer;
• Make mulled wine;
• Walk in the forest after rain;
• Bake apple&cinnamon treats;
• Try cider;
• Go on a bike ride;
• Read at least 3 books;
• Collect and press leaves;
• Make a fake pumpkin patch;

Owl Simple Mail – Sending out a piece of summer

Hello lovely people!

Summertime has always been my blooming mail season. Including the beautiful season of autumn, which I absolutely can’t wait for. For some reason sun, which I’m not very fond of, and rain, which i do love, have always been inspirational keys for me. And so after a long break that I hated, I am glad to finally pick up some postcards and envelopes and craft a lovely letter. I owe quite a few!

Today I really felt like using washi tape. Can you believe that I didn’t buy a single washi tape roll for an entire year? And not sure when will be the next time I can buy some, but I definitely can’t wait. I love washi tape so much! I can’t wait to continue growing my collection. I have been very fortunate to have generous penpals and friends who kindly sent and keep sending me samples of different tapes. I love them all so much and I thank everyone who understand my difficult time and treat me with a happy note, a postcard or even a letter.

I hope your snail mail activities go well. Though many say that summer is the temporary downfall of mail and Postcrossing, I keep seeing that it’s pretty much otherwise 🙂

Owl Simple Things – Key Charms Charming

Hello my dearest readers.

I know, it has been quite a while since my last entry. I have spent a lot of time, pondering on what I want to do with my blog. It felt like nothing really worked out for me, no matter what I felt about it. So I stopped blogging for this long period to collect my thoughts. And this is my decision to come back to blogging with a different kind of content, though not so varied from what I used to write before.

What will you definitely see? Snail mail. A lot of snail mail, hopefully. I will also continue posting some personal things, thoughts and pictures. Now adding a new kind of topic – geek related stuff. I never thought of posting reviews and thoughts on games, movies, shows here, but I think this is exactly what I lacked on this blog. Being a memeber of the amazing IGGPPC helps!

Let’s hope that this revamp lasts much longer and that I again feel that blogging is nota burden but a rather enjoyable hobby.

And to conclude, check out that picture of my new addiction. Well, not so new. I have always been drawn to purchasing and making tons of beads and metal charms. I made a key charm, then two, and I feel like I adore it. Do you want one, perhaps? 🙂

Owl Simple Things – Gardening Adventures Begin!

Hello everyone 🙂 Long time no see, eh?

I am back with a shiny new entry about what I’m doing this spring. Gardening!

I find myself holding my metal spoon for gardening and a bag of soil and tiny seeds in my hand. I’ve never been one to care well for plants but for some reason my desire to grow little green friends was unbeatable. And so after a quick visit to the local home shop, I bought some white forest strawberry seeds. My mother provided me a bag of cat grass to add to my tiny windowsill garden.
